Motion Sensor Lights That Actually Work at the Right Distance
Cheap motion lights either trigger for every squirrel or fail to see a person walking straight at them. EcoLuxe Decor motion-sensor lights use dual-technology PIR sensors with adjustable range (typically 15–40 feet), adjustable sensitivity, and adjustable on-duration (10 seconds to 15 minutes) so you tune the fixture for your exact application.
Our collection covers indoor and outdoor applications: closet and pantry battery lights that stick on with adhesive strips, solar-powered driveway spotlights that need zero wiring, and hardwired outdoor floodlights with 2,500–5,000 lumen output for garage, side-yard, and back-deck security. Do solar motion lights work in winter?
Yes. Solar panels charge in cold weather and even under light snow cover. Runtime may drop by 30-40% on very short winter days but the fixture still functions.
How long does the light stay on after motion?
On-duration is adjustable from 10 seconds to 15 minutes on most models. Set it to 30-60 seconds for driveway applications, or 5-10 minutes for closet or pantry use.
Can I disable the motion sensor and use the light as a regular fixture?
Most hardwired outdoor floods have a manual override that lets you keep the light on continuously or in dusk-to-dawn mode. Battery models require sensor operation.
Why does my motion light trigger on my pet?
Most pets under 30 lbs won't trigger a PIR sensor unless the sensitivity is set very high. Lower the sensitivity or angle the sensor slightly upward to keep it above pet height.
Do I need an electrician to install motion lights?
Battery and solar models install with adhesive strips or a screwdriver. Hardwired outdoor floodlights require an existing junction box - a licensed electrician is recommended for new installations.
